Preparation
For your oat bread, just add
- 500 ml of water
- 2 tbsp. (20 ml) vinegar (e.g. apple vinegar)
- loaf pan (20 cm or 25 cm)
- Hand mixer with dough hooks
- Optional: oats to sprinkle
Note: the vinegar is only added for conservation purposes, so the bread stays fresher for longer. The smell and taste of vinegar disappear during the baking process.
This is how it works
- Preheat the oven to 200°C air circulation or 220°C top bottom heat and place an ovenproof bowl filled with water in the oven. Now oil the loaf pan thoroughly.
- Place your bread baking mix into a mixing bowl with the water and vinegar and knead everything shortly with your hand mixer until it forms a smooth dough (max. 1-2 minutes). Don’t knead the dough for too long!
- Now pour the dough into the oiled loaf pan and smoothen it down, for example with a wet spatula.
- Let the dough rest for 15 minutes until the oven is preheated.
- If you like to, you can sprinkle the dough with oats and bake the oat bread in the middle of the oven for 60 minutes.
- After baking, take the bread out of the loaf pan and let it cool down on a rack. Done!
Tip: You can be creative when decorating the oat bread. You can add seeds and grains for the extra crunch as a topping.
